University of Nigeria Secondary School Nsukka Alumni Association Fundraiding and Gala

UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA SECONDARY SCHOOL NSUKKA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION FUND RAISING AND GALA NIGHT  IS 8TH – 9TH DECEMBER 2017
The University of Nigerian Secondary School started its operation on the 11th of January 1983, superseded by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Professor Frank N Ndili.

The school have since then been in existence till date, producing men and women of great value in the society.

Over the years, the school have been headed and governed by amazing individuals who acted in the capacity of the principal of the university of Nigeria secondary school Nsukka.

The university of Nigeria secondary school however just like the educational system in Nigeria, have gone through many huddles which has challenged and is still challenging its mission up till date.

Some of these challenges can be seen as a result of the university withdrawing its support to the school thereby leaving the functioning of the school to the proceeds of the fees.

Looking at the Nsukka community which the school is resident in and what is obtainable in the town, the students cannot afford to pay so much in fees as their parents would not be able afford the right amount in fees that would sustain the initial vision of the school, therefor the standard in academic quality has dwindled.

However, all hope is not lost as the salvation of the school is drawing near.

The National body of the university of Nigeria secondary school Nsukka alumni association, have identified the need to support the school in order to maintain the standard as well as improve on it

The body have however called on its members who though the training from the school, have attained excellence through honest labour, to come together and support this school that have given so much to them, with the #givebacktounisec

The above event is to take place in Abuja FCT as follows

Atiku Shares Deep Lessons From Black Panther

Over the weekend, I joined my children to watch the much talked about ‘Black Panther’. It was a good film, and I was happy they took me to see it. However, I came out of the movie theatre a little upset. When the first scenes came up, and I saw “Sambisa Forest” I was unhappy that the only reference the film makers could have for Nigeria was a negative one, but I was later encouraged by the thought of Africans solving African problems. That is a good thing, the kinds of things we used to do. For young people who may not remember, Nigerian civil servants and indeed most able citizens used to contribute money every month to support the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa. Nigeria was the single stabilizing force across West Africa. Helping to restore peace in Liberia and Sierra Leone are examples of the gigantic status we once had.

Selling Smart Phone Pictures: When My Phone Photography Exhibition Abuja Held Recently

The maiden edition of the 'my phone photography exhibition' held on the 23rd of March. The Shehu Musa Yar'adua Centre located in central area, Abuja, played host to this event. It was an atmosphere filled with calmness but you could also hear the joy and excitement in the voices of the over 100 people who came through the exhibition doors.
The idea of the exhibition was born by one of the exhibitors (Omofuoma Agharite). Haven taken numerous pictures with her phone, she wanted to share those pictures with others and at the same time support a charity organisation. It was then that the idea was born and given to Ivy Events to nurture. After months of planning and execution, a group of exhibitors came together to showcase some of the amazing pictures that they had photographed with only their phones.
